At United, we strive to make life easier for our clients by providing them with superior service and convenient access to a variety of financial products and services. At the same time, we recognize that clients expect us to protect their information from any unauthorized use.

Safeguarding client information is a matter that we take very seriously. Our clients are not only protected by federal and state laws, but by United’s commitment to uphold both the spirit and the letter of those laws.

  • We share client information among our bank’s departments only in accordance with strict internal security standards, confidentiality policies and applicable law. 
  • We hold our co-workers fully accountable for adhering to those standards, policies and laws.
  • Co-worker access to client information is limited to those co-workers who, because of their position or responsibilities, have a business reason to know or have access to such information.
  • We share internally generated client identification, transaction, and experience information among our family of companies.
  • We share third party information on clients among our family of companies only in response to a client request for a product or service.
  • We do not share nonpublic personal information about our clients with nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law.
  • We have established high standards for protecting information regarding our clients from unauthorized alteration or destruction.
  • We investigate client inquiries regarding information received from United (or from a credit bureau reflecting information provided by United) that the client believes to be inaccurate and take steps to correct information we determine to be incorrect. Clients should notify us if they receive information regarding their United relationship that they believe to be inaccurate.
  • We protect information on former clients using the same standards we adhere to for current clients. 

We are committed to treating client information responsibly while offering the array of financial services clients need to achieve their financial goals.
