UNITED STRUCTURED FINANCE COMPANY RECEIVES TWO SBA LENDING AWARDS

TECUMSEH, MI - United Bancorp, Inc. is proud to announce that its business unit, United Structured Finance Company (USFC), was awarded two prestigious awards for its work with SBA lending: 2008 Partner of the Year Award from the Michigan Certified Development Corporation (MCDC); and the 2008 Community Lender of the Year Award from the SBA Michigan District.

The Partner of the Year Award goes to the financial institution that had the greatest impact on small businesses in Michigan via the SBA 504 loan program, in addition to generating the largest amount of SBA 504 volume with the MCDC during their fiscal year. The Community Lender of the Year Award goes out to the lending institution that has the best overall performance among Michigan-based, non-PLP lenders. Both awards hold high distinction, and the nominee pool was comprised of several large regional- and national-level banks.

Mike Chatas, president and co-founder of USFC, states: "It is a honor to be recognized by these two organizations, especially since USFC is still fairly new in the small business lending arena. We have an outstanding team of professionals that made this happen for us, and these awards go out to all of them."

United Structured Finance Company offers simple and effective long-term structured finance solutions for small business owners. The business loan programs include both SBA 504 and SBA 7a lending solutions. USFC offers creative solutions customized for the borrower, including longer-term loans, 90% loan-to-cost financing, and highly leveraged funding. Bridge and construction financing are available for the borrower who wants temporary funding to help bridge the gap between short- and long-term funding needs.
